WHERE TO DONATE
We recommend that you donate any proceeds from the
sale of "Stop Genocide in Sudan" t-shirts to a relief or charitable
organization that is working to aid victims and refugees or to stop
the violence in Sudan. The following is a list of suggested organizations,
with links to their Darfur-specific pages. Note that this is an incomplete
list, and that Students Against Genocide is not affiliated with any
of these organizations.
American Jewish World Service
AJWS is a non-sectarian group whose funds are helping to rehabilitate
water sources, construct sanitation facilities, and provide basic health
care and other essential humanitarian services, including a service
program for children orphaned by the crisis.
Genocide
Intervention Network
Donations to GI-NET go to its Civilian Protection Fund, helping to protect civilians in areas of genocide and mass atrocity, and toward GI-NET's advocacy and educational programs that provide members with the tools to prevent and end genocide.
International Rescue Committee
The IRC delivers lifesaving aid in emergencies, rebuilds shattered communities,
cares for war-traumatized children, rehabilitates health care, water
and sanitation systems, reunites separated families, restores lost livelihoods,
establishes schools, trains teachers, strengthens the capacity of local
organizations and supports civil society and good-governance initiatives.
Oxfam
Oxfam is helping over 600,000 people in Darfur and Chad, working with
communities to fight the spread of disease and save lives. They provide
vital clean water, build latrines and washing facilities, and distribute
essential items such as buckets and jerry cans for carrying water, soap,
sanitary cloths, clean clothes, ground sheets, blankets and plastic
sheeting for building shelters.
Save Darfur
Save Darfur is an alliance of over 180 faith-based, advocacy and humanitarian organizations.
The Coalition’s member organizations represent 130 million people of all ages, races, religions and political affiliations
united together to help the people of Darfur.
